What do you plan for your 2011 fishing season?
ByChristmas is almost here as I write this post... my kids get excited and are looking forward to this evening, as this is THE moment we will all have a great supper, sing songs, tell stories, and for them, most of all, unpack their X-mas presents...
Next week I will reflect back on my 2010 fishing season and take new year "fishing resolutions" to plan my 2011 season. So what's in store for me?
I want to spend at least one week fishing for bonefish in Cuba, as my buddy Pascal has been there multiple times and recommended several productive flats easily accessible for a DoItYourselfer like me..
Then I want to go back at least once for 2-3 days to fish for winter steelhead around the Pulaski, NY region. My last trip end of october was good even though we didn't exactly hit the runs on time..
I also plan on building another trout rod during the winter, a 9ft #5 -4 piece medium action for my all-round trout fishing - probably on TFO Professional blanks. If I find the budget and time, I would love to build myself a double-hander spey rod, as I started experimenting with spey cast last fall (with a little help from my friends
I also plan on having a weekly rythm to my local fishing outings during prime trout season: hopefully twice a week, between 6 am and 9 am from end of May until October...
I leave myself the rest of the Holidays to think about other resolutions... but more is not necessarily better, 'cause I will have to live up to them during 2011 ...
How about you, what are your 2011 fishing resolutions? Please share them below in the comment section.
